Through the Lindis to the Websters'

Wednesday 1 April

Almost a frost - a couple of sparkles on the grass and 0*C on the thermometer - as we woke to a gentle pink dawn… and Kaye’s cheeky escapee sheep staring us out from the fodder beet field again!!

We had a chill morning and packed up slowly - Kaye & Jet popped over to say goodbye (and for Jet to solicit even more belly rubs) then we hit the road up through the Kurow Valley to Omarama (no stop at Otematata as the real ice cream stop was closed 😢) then on into the Lindis Pass.

It was a stunning drive with clear blue skies and glorious sunshine beaming down on the landscape - though there were a few dodgy drivers we had to avoid.

Obligatory stop at Tarras for lunch in Banjo (we’ve used up our March food budget so no more lovely sandwiches and slices until April!) then a small real fruit ice cream for Louis because apparently they are not part of the food budget!? Then we trekked on down Lake Dunstan to Alexandra.

Louis had a swim while I did a quick food shop then we headed up to the Websters place in a cloud of dust… no rain here for a while!

We parked up by the gate as there are building works going on up by the house and settled in for a lovely evening and a roast that we cooked to say thank you for having us.

Had a Fitbit walk in the moonlight - love this part of the world!
