Saturday 18 July

Another surprisingly cold morning - I’d woken early at 4ish and switched on the heater

as it was single figures inside Banjo. Beautiful golden dawn with glittering frost ❄️

We had a mostly quiet day with Louis swimming at a new-to-him pool, Taiora QEII over near New Brighton which he said was excellent and me doing a huge laundry load at Liquid Laundromat in Kaiapoi. Highlight of my time in Kaiapoi was spotting this funky orange car with a Mutley sticker over the rear wheel 🧡

I took a late afternoon/early evening walk to the Kaiapoi Lakes while Louis pottered and did more Ute stuff then we whizzed out to the airport to collect Amy who flew down for my whānau birthday weekend 🥰

Took her to Riverside Market for dinner, kept an eye on the rugby scores, then dropped her off at Petra’s place as they are besties… even though Petra is on night shift at NICU so they may not even see each other all weekend 😳

Home to Banjo for a good nights sleep before the birthday fun Part 2! 🎉
