Whanau & Friends Day - Father's Day Can Wait...

Sunday 7 September

Father’s Day was largely put on hold as elder daughter is in Christchurch and younger daughter is between shifts. Instead, Sara, Michael & Helen came over for a family visit and to check out Banjo… and somehow we all managed to squeeze in!

Meanwhile the Orrs had gone out to do their Father’s Day thing and Summer was convinced she had been abandoned so was making quite a racket! I popped a lead on her and we went over to Shepherds Park when our family had left. She had a lovely time and we met a few local doggos too including a full Chow whose owners were fascinated by Summer’s Chow/Golden Retriever mash up!

Later that evening we headed into town for a lovely dinner with Dean, Katy and their 3 boys. They have a fabulous arts & crafts house in Epsom filled with fascinating chandeliers, fireplaces, carvings and artworks. I was particularly taken with the New Orleans street art in their living area - really funky!
