Wanaka bound - in Search of Snow

Friday 6 June
At last - a really cold night, good thing our pipes were almost all lagged now. This was a first for us - icy coating on Banjo’s outer shell & windows… and to prove how cold it was, the Websters’ hosepipe was frozen solid with an icicle dangling out the end!
Jez & Louis went back under Banjo to finish the pipe lagging & I sorted everything out inside. Took us a while to catch Harley who was enjoying the freedom of the property - Jeremy called him and enticed him with treats but the scent of bunny rabbits was too strong in his nostrils!
We said our farewells to Jonny & Debs and the lovely red house… next time we are in the area, they’ll be in their new place on MacArthur Road.
Moving on to Wānaka we drove the length of Lake Dunstan, stopped in Cromwell for Louis to get another Kitchen cheese scone and for me to meet Lacey the golden retriever, and finally parked up at Albert Town in time for a late lunch. The site was buzzing when we were last here back in February/March but was really empty this time - except for the bunnies and ducks!
Drove into town for dinner at Speights, Lake View which was surprisingly good (especially my large portion of blue cod). Now waiting to see if we wake up to snow in the morning, or if the forecasts change yet again!!!
