Taking it even Easier!

Wednesday 26 February

Still chilling on our return journey to Ōtautahi Christchurch - we left the Peski POP in Geraldine late morning after chatting with some of our fellow campers - and cruised gently towards Ashburton.

Here we had a few shopping chores to complete (Kmart and Woolworths) before treating ourselves to lunch at Joe’s Garage which was a little lacklustre. The food was great but took so long to be prepared that they offered us free drinks and a refund on Louis’ iced latte!

After lunch we headed to another POP (Park Over Property) run by a fabulous old fella called Robbie Hewitt. After some confusion we parked up in one space, then the people who’d booked the same space turned up and we had to move. It was all very amicable and laid back - such a lovely bunch of people. Meanwhile I was on laundry duty as it was fresh bed linen week so everyone chilled until I got back with the car and we played swapsies!

Popped into town again later for “Bridget Jones : Mad About the Boy” which was so much fun and weirdly emotional. Loved all the callbacks like the blue cocktails that looked like her infamous blue string soup, the return to Borough Market, big pants, running through the snow at the end etc - and Hugh being naughty as ever as Daniel Cleaver. Emma T was awesome too!

Home to our farm yard campsite and the clearest starriest sky above! ✨
