Sunrise to Sunset - Quite the Day!

Thursday 14 August

Something woke me just after 7am - very fortuitous as the sun was just about to rise through a glowing orange sky to the east.

Louis was still sleeping so I pottered down to Woolies for milk, then decided to treat him to another of Lieutenant’s delicious cheese scones ❤️

My big job for the day was to meet the project manager assigned to us by the insurance company to coordinate the repairs at Endeavour Street after the tenants overflowed the bath a few weeks ago. The damage did not look as bad as anticipated - but there is quite a bit of costly water damage to rectify. Maybe we can cover the excess by selling the lemons which my lemon tree has suddenly decided to produce!

It was also good to catch up with Ayesha - dog lady extraordinaire! Today Gino was joined by Buddha, a very needy but adorable mini-me of a black labrador. Detoured via Amy’s on way back to return & collect more puzzles (and homemade muffins - thanks Sarah!)

Ann & Mark Bradley came to visit and discuss health issues (it’s not just us oldies, daughter Sophie is also hobbling from a football injury!) and catch up generally 🥰 It was their other daughter, Emma, who is a physio in Christchurch, who got the ball rolling for Louis’ surgery. As we were chatting I looked out the window and realised we were missing the most glorious golden hour so we popped out on the balcony to enjoy it and get the obligatory selfie shot!

Chilled after a beautiful sunset and I finished a small puzzle 500 piece 🧩 it’s becoming an obsession!
