Friday 20 June - Matariki

FILO - First In, four followers, then Last Out!

Beautiful morning light as I went out wandering round our freedom camp at around 8am - then the sun crept over Kātiki Point flooding the beach and the coastline with its golden rays.

We packed up and left just before ten, continuing southwards to Otepoti Dunedin. A few big hills later and we were parked up at the rather gloomy NZMCA site at Woodhaugh, on a bit of a wonk, cos the whole site is slopey!

Quick lunch and a bit of catching up on admin then into town so Louis could have a swim while I went wandering… ended up in an op shop naturally! Bought a pair of my favourite Denim Republic cut off jeans for the springtime for just $1!

Louis came and collected me before I could buy any more and we popped over to St Clair (or maybe St Kilda) beach for a bracing walk in the wintry weather - which promptly turned wet & rainy 🌧️ so we didn’t go far!

Decided to treat ourselves to a Matariki dinner out - but opted for Vietnamese rather than hangi 😮 We were the only ones in the restaurant besides uber eats drivers - but it was very yummy!

Turned in early to hear the rain pattering down on Banjo’s roof as we lay in bed all cosy & warm. ☺️
