Sunday Chilling on a damp day

Sunday 17 August

There was rugby on TV so Jez & Abby whizzed up to join us early morning. Abby & I got bored so headed out for a slightly damp walk at half time - Viaduct & Wynyard and a bit of posh boat spotting (still no sign of lovely Janice of Wyoming). Coming back we detoured to the New Balance outlet store and I got a new pair of black trainers for the next season of our travels (my trusty purple ASICS are getting a bit shabby). We were also most amused to see a fella scooting by with a dog in a crate on the front of his scooter - so funny!

Back to the apartment for cheese & crackers snack lunch then they headed off on airport chauffeur duties while we siestaed then set off for our daily rehab walk in the drizzle.

Enjoyed the climax of a cool balancing, contortionist, juggling, fire-eating busker’s act in the square - see that small hoop in the air? He put his whole body through that whilst balancing on a roller atop a wobbly little platform!! Then we accidentally stumbled into Amano and treated ourselves to a “monkey bread” which comprised offcuts of croissant glued together with butter & sugar & baked… wow! That was my treat, as Louis was saving himself for an Island Gelato (dulce de leche this time)

Auntie Jean came and joined us for dinner then it was puzzle time for me as Louis watched Alien Romulus.
