Stormy Day & an Excellent Dinner

Sunday 31 August

The big storm rolled in during the day - we managed a walk around the neighbourhood without getting caught in the downpours which was quite a triumph! I love the names of the realtors around here - after Liz Hurley a few days back, today we came across the ultimate Bond girl "Misty Goodgame"!

Made an insane decision to visit Albany which was rammed with people trying to avoid the grim weather outside. On the last few dollars of our August food budget so Louis was delighted to be offered a free coffee at the Nespresso store!

Saving more money, we had lunch in Banjo from our cupboards & fridge - scrambled eggs and smoked salmon... yum!

The evening was our special early birthday treat for Louis - Restaurant Month dinner at Botswana Butchery. Luckily I’d pre-budgeted for this 😉 We were worried that the Harbour Bridge might be closed, but it was open and not too stormy when we headed south into the CBD early evening.

Our dinner was absolutely delicious - 5-course degustation menu for $65 - fabulous!

King salmon ceviche followed by wagyu steak tartare to start, then filet mignon and duck fat potatoes, mini lamb rack and pave pommes for mains, rounded off with an exquisite orange chocolate mousse with blood orange sorbet… everything tasted amazing, was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. What a treat!
