Sunday 18 May

Bit of a grey day after a rainy night - strange strata of clouds striping the sky on our morning walk along the abandoned Beach Road.

Thanks to a BookMe deal we got $4.90 tickets for the Steampunk HQ (usually $15) so spent an enjoyable hour or so exploring the madcap world of Victoriana/faux industrial/Sci fi/goth fantasy creations. Such fun sharing it with Abby & Jez.

Abby threw herself into it - playing the funky organ, extracting her own teeth in the horror dentist chair, patching through calls, getting trapped in mazes and barrels and marvelling at the twinkly portal lights.

I remain fascinated by the variety of faces and heads created to top these weird & wonderful magical fantasy beings.

Snuck our picnic lunch into the Riviera Cinema for a non-code compliant viewing of “Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning” - 3 hours of Basil Exposition, incredible stunts and Tom Cruise basically becoming a biblical saviour of humanity! Bombastic and bonkers but thoroughly enjoyable!

After all that we were exhausted and needed a little R&R so popped back to Craftwork Brewery for a quick pint then booked a couple of hot tubs, at Old Bones, overlooking the sea for an hour or two - wonderful! Ted the Border Terrorist who lives there showed up and promptly fell in love with Jez!

Snacks dinner, a bottle Ironclad, several attempts to feed Harley multiple dinners and lots of laughs - what a fab day!
