Recovery Day!

Sunday 22 July

Late to bed, slow to rise - a lethargic morning after the party night before until we joined the crew at the venue to help wash, dry, clear, clean & pack out. Top team - it took just under an hour then we all piled round to Gravity to drop off the lights and sound gear. Abby is heavily involved in this side of the events industry and we all got over excited at seeing all the gear that was stored where she works!!! We were all rather over excited to get inside this Aladdin's cave of lighting, sound, props and backdrops - of course I found the biggest glitterball and Kate called me over to see the multiple sequin photo backdrops!!)

Half the Auckland family were flying straight back after this so we said our farewells and headed back to Banjo for lunch. Louis got the bikes ready again so we could cycle over to St Clair to meet Nickie & Russ for a catch up and a walk on the beach. It was chilly sunny and the place was humming - it has a bit of a Sydney vibe.

Met lots of dogs of all shapes and sizes and managed about 300m each way on the beach before the cold wind got to us! Some mad people were out surfing and three daredevils ran into the waves in bikinis - but they didn’t last long!

Back to Banjo for a chill out evening and early bed… not used to being out after midnight! 🕛
