Rainy Sunday & walkies at Cornwallis Beach

Sunday 21 June

A not so sunny Sunday - Albi and I took a morning walk around the block under grey drizzly skies. Picking up the Pride theme for June - my Hamill rainbow top coordinated with Sara’s rainbow doormat 🌈 Louis had a chill morning then headed over to help out his mum with some more technical issues.

I rashly decided to walk across to St Luke’s to get my phone screen replaced. Found a Kmart trolley abandoned at the end of our street, so decided to push it all the way back to St Luke’s… it was a noisy journey but it found its tribe eventually! 🛒 Got my new phone screen protector and was delighted to find a new pair of Asics trainers on sale at Footlocker so bought them while I was there - turns out kids sizes fit me so I got those for $99.90 down from $180! 👟 Sadly by the time I headed home it was absolutely pouring and I arrived back drenched - thank heavens for tumble dryers!

Helen had leftovers lunch with us then we dropped her back home and whizzed over to Green Bay to catch up with Russ and the Fernandi whānau. We piled into his car and headed out along the Manukau Harbour for a lovely high tide walk with Minnie and Albi at Cornwallis Beach. Albi enjoyed first class travel out to Manukau Harbour while Minnie traveled coach class and rested her head on my shoulder - Albi was too much of a princess to join her in the boot!

By now the sun was out a bit and we had a lovely stroll until the high tides and Minnie’s reluctance made us turn around. Albi had the most awesome time! The sea was not super cold - Albi was happy to go rushing in chasing the ball. Love how she goes all curly like a crinkle cut chip when she gets wet! ❤️

We took the obligatory Fernandstone beach selfie before leaving - just Nickie missing, she’s back in the UK 🇬🇧

Lovely tea and catch up with Russ then back to Sandringham for early dinner before heading over to Waterview to see Amy, Sarah and my lovely Dilligas. Amy was very proud of her new tool collection and showed us all her gear… she’s taken up woodworking in between her paramedic shifts.

He’s not entirely forgiven us for abandoning him 18 months ago, but is loving being in charge of Amy & Sarah!! But he deigned to play with his catnip sushi toy with his old mum and begrudgingly allowed me to enjoy a few snuggles.
