Thursday 1 January

The morning after the night before - bacon & eggs for brekkie and another walk to the dog park with Harley. Although the clouds were all around, somehow we were in the sun all the way there and back and it was scorchio! ☀️

Lunch back at the vineyard (salad with extra added fresh fig!) & siesta for Louis & Abby as Jez & I popped into town to dispose of NYE empties and replace my stick blender which started smoking the night before - yikes! The clouds along the way were fabulous - lenticular but wooshy and stacked high into the sky. PS - what do you think of Harley modelling the guys' doggo tapestry waistcoats???

The sleepers had woken by the time we returned so after a quick google we set off to St Clair as it was one of the few cellar doors open on New Year’s Day. Tasting was ok but nothing special so no purchases.

Back at the vineyard I chopped up all the figs we had collected and brewed a pan of fig chutney - looking forward to trying it with some brie! Leftovers dinner in the Moho before we all turned in for an early night… Abby was in her PJs before we’d even finished the washing up!!! I popped out as we saw glorious colour flood into Banjo - the sunset was epic and the wolf moon later was stunning too and lit up the whole landscape.
