Monday 18 August
Out and about with the early morning commuters and workers - in search of steps and croissants. I found cones and eclectic dressers! City of Sails or City of Cones? I was left wondering what the random layout of cones all about in Te Komititanga Square outside the railway station... only time would tell.
Spent the early morning finishing the latest puzzle from Amy (the magnolia blooms were a real nightmare) then headed out to pick up Helen and do a few chores with her (including collecting some shopping from Hannah and getting an excited welcome from Albi) before bringing her back to Quay West for lunch.
Popped in to check on Don who was still in hospital (last day hopefully!) then dropped Helen home. Poor Don was having a lonely day as Jean had been at her eye appointment and was too blind to come & visit until her vision settled back later.
It had been a slow day for Fitbit steps so early evening I took a stroll through the bright lights of the Viaduct and back along the waterfront. So vibrant!
Coming back through through Te Komititanga Square it was a lot quieter than morning rush hour and I discovered that the cones were all part of an interactive art installation - encouraging passers by to grab a cone and pop it down wherever they fancied. Such fun!
