Tuesday 29 July
The day came when we left the South Island - early alarm, a scenic trip round Picton courtesy of Apple Maps thinking we might be pedestrian ferry passengers, then we were checked in for the ferry and queuing to board.
An hour or so later, thanks to a numpty truck driver who got stuck on the ramp, we finally drove on, parked up and went upstairs to our cabin… where we waited for another hour as they tried to remove the offending truck!
It was a wet, windy and grey crossing, but not much swell so we arrived into Wellington with a welcoming rainbow 🌈 around lunch time.
Headed up Transmission Gulley which was a challenge the Pajero conquered with ease, and we set course for Marton and the NZMCA there.

Easy drive and a siesta for me, then we took it easy, had a call with our BHB tenants, cooked pork chops for dinner & watched 2 more episodes of Ludwig - excellent series!
