Grounded!

After three days of amazing weather for ballooning, the wind got a bit over excited and put a stop to all the fun ❌

Fortunately however the sun shone and we managed a bit of a lie in before breakfast in the Hall where we got to watch yesterday’s coverage on TVNZ Breakfast.

Back at the campground we chased the sun for the solar top up, ran leads from the barn to get back up power, Louis did some music, Abby worked and I pottered. We had lunch in the sun which was a real autumn treat - but the cloud arch still sat there over the foothills signifying strong winds at higher levels.

Jez, John, Harley & I went for a walk round the domain while Louis had a cycle.

Rounded off a slow day with a raucous night out ar Thirsty Acres in Kirwee where Josh & Elliot and a couple of other pilots won half of the Thursday noght meat raffle (it’s a very kiwi thing!) Plans were made to cook the meat on the balloon burners… utterly mad! Having too much fun to take photos so the night remains undocumented - oops!
