Gelato & Takeaway - the perfect Post Op Diet!

Friday 15 August

What a triumph! After a couple of pretty short walks outdoors, Louis set his mind to getting an Island Gelato - so off we strolled down to the waterfront. He said it was a bit painful - but manageable - and the tiramisu gelato made it all worthwhile!

We took a slightly longer route home, out to the top of Princes Wharf and back along the front of MSocial, and his retro Arsenal sweatshirt caught the eye of a South African street maintenance guy busy keeping the pathways beautiful… he insisted on sharing a long chat about prospects for the upcoming English Premiership season as he was a Toffees (Everton) supporter first and foremost, and a Gooner second!

After lunch I drove back to Beach Haven and Banjo to drop off and collect some stuff, catch up with Mairi, meet Summer the foster dog and hopefully have a Dilligas snuggle. Ticked off all but the latter - Dilligas had gone AWOL for the day as he didn’t like the painters clattering around outside! Summer is an 11 yo Chow Chow/Goldie cross - she is the sweetest, gentlest of dogs and looks quite funny - it’s like the Chow genes won the head and Goldie genes dealt with everything else! She is very needy and follows Mairi everywhere like a shadow. Dilligas has got her measure and she is settling into her role at the bottom of the food chain like a good dog!

Back at the apartment I finished off the next 500 piece puzzle from Amy, then cleared up a bit, ready to host 3/4 of the gang for the evening. We popped over to Commercial Bay "Harbour Eats" to grab dinner - poke bowl, dumplings, pho, karaage chicken, noodle soup and crispy Vietnamese rolls tonight. Lovely fun being together again and Abby and I went exploring in the building for a giggle… didn’t find much though 🙄. The Penthouse levels are all accessible as the lift card readers are kaput so we went up to check on the views from up there - but sadly it was all corridors and no windows - just 3-4 doors versus the 7 on lower floors so they must be quite spacious places!
