Farewell to the North...

Monday 21 April

Our last day oop north so lots to do and so many people to see.

We swung by Olaf’s for coffees and assorted pastries (new ownership? Not as fab as before 🥺) and took some treats to Grandma Helen ☕️🥐.

She has not been well since a fall and intense sciatica which hospitalised her for a while ❤️‍🩹. Spent a while with her before sharing big hugs and heading on to BHB to see Ayesha & Mike (& Gino 🐕‍🦺) who are looking after our house & tenants while we are travelling. Dropped off a few items to store and grabbed a wee travel guitar for Louis, then had to pop to Kmart to get a suitcase to pack it in for the flight.

Lovely chance meeting with Ella’s bestie Renee and her family at the mall then we whizzed over to Waterview to see Amy’s new pad and catch up with Sarah & Beth.

Then back to Quay West to rearrange all our packing to accommodate the guitar and Louis’ ski boots before Amy collected us and drove us out to the airport (ultimate Uber-nstone!)

An easy flight ✈️ “home” to the South Island, but a bit of a shock as the temperature on arrival was around 10*C lower ❄️ than in Auckland! Lovely evening with Ella, Josh and the hoodlum hounds 🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺 before spending the night with them as Banjo was still at the repair shop.
