Cinema Paradiso - so cool!

Wednesday 8 April

After a good night’s sleep, we awoke to seasons of mists and mellow fruitfulness… though the mist soon burned away to reveal a patchy day of sunshine & clouds with the odd shower.

We cycled into Three Peaks mid-morning so Louis could swim and I revisited Sallies (awesome charcoal grey merino for Abby) and did a top up shop at New World before cycling back while Louis toiled up and down the pool. Love the community beds outside the aquatic centre - growing flowers, herbs & veggies for people to enjoy... I picked a few sprigs of herbs to add to lunch or dinner.

Cycling home past Pembroke Patisserie (didn't stop, nothing keto there!) there was a long, low, flat rainbow across the hills 🌈

After late lunch I went for a wander round the camp - again - someone was holding their space with tables and chairs, ready to return to dinner with a view over the Clutha. TBF, this was a much lovelier site than the campers by the portaloo, so I kinda sympathised. Down on the Clutha there were some mad people doing the Outlet float - cruising down the river on a SUP and a kayak… in freezing cold waters!

then we had a quick cheese & crackers snack before whizzing into town to the Cinema Paradiso to watch “Project Hail Mary”.

The film was great but the cinema was something else - all the walls decorated with classic movie posters, fresh-baked cookies served in the interval (yes, there was an interval!) and in Screen 1 the seating options were sofas, classic theatre style seats and a Morris Minor with driver & passenger seats, and two old cinema seats on the boot!!!

Close up pics of the Morris Minor give you all the detail, and in the corridor beside the screening room, the rear wheel arch and tyre burst through the wall!!! I loved the movie posters all over the walls - reminds me how many classics I have yet to watch... one day...

Project Hail Mary was such a cool movie… I especially loved Ryan Gosling’s wardrobe choices and fabulous retro T-shirts! Time to find my Kilban's Cat hula T-shirt from Hawaii, circa 1988 - it's probably worth a fortune as retro gear after this movie.

Brilliant experience! Amaze! Amaze! Amaze!
