Chores Day in CHC

Friday 10 October

Chores day today in CHC - began with trading in the trusty Pajero for a scallywag electric blue Subaru while we got the 6 monthly service sorted.

Louis went and swam 2km at the Graham Condon Pool in Papanui while I got my blood test done (eventually) at Awanui Labs (all good, my white cell count is back where it should be) then went to Kmart & discovered The Outlet where I upgraded my Converse for the summer for a mere $69! The Outlet is a new store which is popping up in assorted Torpedo 7 stores around the country as T7 have gone into liquidation; they seem to be part of an umbrella company and have heaps of branded goods at discount prices including stunning Augustine frocks, cool Sweaty Betty gym gear, Torpedo7 outdoor gear, Huffer, Oakley and others.

Popped back into the centre of town for lunch at Riverside Market (because that's the law when you visit CHC) and a wander to kill time. Picking a keto friendly meal in amongst all the carby deliciousness was not easy, but I avoided ALL the sweet treats and the delicious noodle dishes, and ordered a hoisin duck salad from Roti Joe's which was absolutely delicious. Louis went to my favourite Ramen place for a teriyaki chicken don and accidentally bought a sticky date cookie from our favourite patisserie (I did try one crumb!)

Killing time included a trip to Ballantynes to stock up on T2 & TeaTotal earl greys, a lovely chat with the guys at Choose Sarcasm who had an excellent range of hoodies, Ts & tote bags printed with brilliant Te Reo/English phrases and images, a smooch with Ted the collie/GSP cross with the best eye patch, a wave at the passing trams and quite a while spent peering into the River Avon to watch the long fin eels cruising around at the steps, waiting to be fed something inappropriate!

Finally picked up the Pajero ready for the next 67,500kms, had a wee snooze then over to Woodend Beach to cook dinner for Ella & Josh.

We did a flat chook roast with assorted veggies and no gravy as Amy wasn't there! Lovely evening with them and the hoodlum hounds (who enjoyed the broccoli & cauliflower stems) before being rocked to sleep by wild winds buffeting Banjo.
