Chores and Recovery

Tuesday 26 August

Sadly the big drive and the walk on Takapuna Beach all proved to be a bit much for our recovering patient ❤️‍🩹 so Tuesday was a definite rest day for Louis.

Meanwhile I popped back to the apartment to give it a good dust, hoover and clean so it looked like we’d never been there!

Next stop was Three Kings to collect Helen, then we swung by the Brooks’ and on to New Lynn for various appointments and chores.

First & best appointment was a late lunch at The Ward Room, then GP, pharmacy, hairdresser, supermarket and hardware store. Chores sorted I dropped Helen home with her purchases and hit the early rush hour traffic north over the Bridge (fortunately not too bad yet) to my poor, sore, bored Louis. Combination of Monday’s active day, first ride in the car since the return from hospital and weaning himself off the worst of the drugs was a recipe for pain & discomfort - but he’d struggled through and done heaps of life admin online in my absence.

We joined Mairi, Lily & Finn for dinner in the house then retired to an early bed… both feeling quite shattered! 💤
